Rokuonji Temple, one of the buildings on the grounds of Shokokuji Temple in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City, is famous for its golden glow, and is commonly known as Kinkakuji Temple.

It is said that it was originally created by the third shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate to express the Pure Land of Paradise.
